To make your diet healthier …

When you think about leading a healthy life, you may think about eating a diet. And with the word diet comes a whole idea of restrictions that you must do so that you can lose weight, feel more fit, lighter or to manage some health condition. However, in my experience as a women’s health coach I have realized that a healthy life does not mean that you have to deprive yourself of delicious things.

Although socially they have made us think that to be healthy you have to follow a diet, I have been realizing that it is better to take things in measure, even measure. I think when something is very rigid it breaks and that is why diets do not tend to work. So my approach tends to be, add before delete.

How? Add fresh food to your meals instead of using products. For example, you can start by adding at least a cup or a cup and a half of cooked vegetables at each meal. Instead of going straight to chips or crackers for a snack, eat fruit or carrots with hummus for that sweet, salty flavor plus crunchy effect. The idea is to experiment with flavors and add variety to your dishes. For example, you can add these three super foods that are packed with nutrients, minerals and vitamins and they will give you a twist great to your meals.

  1. Hemp seeds or Hemp – Hemp seeds – Hemp seeds are a complete protein, it has 10 grams of protein without saturated fat or cholesterol. They are also rich in Omegas 3 and 6, which makes them wonderful for your nervous and cardiovascular systems. How to consume them at meals? Add them to soups, smoothies, salads, homemade granola, or even cooked meals!

  1. Acai – Its flavor can be described as a fusion between chocolate and blackberries. They are very high in antioxidants. Its possible benefits are currently being studied to lower “bad” cholesterol or LDL, to improve performance in athletes and to protect us from possible cellular damage that comes with aging. It can be added to oats, cereals, smoothies, granola and more. Make them part of your diet and always keep in mind that they do not have added sugar so that you can truly receive their benefits.

  1. Almond flour – It is done by peeling the almonds and turning them into a fine flour. It is a super good alternative if you have sensitivity problems with gluten and it is also rich in protein and fiber. Definitely a better alternative that uses bleached and super processed flours because having protein what you cook with it will make you feel satisfied for longer.
