“Gringo en La Habana” takes its name from Arthur’s recent visit to Cuba, where he collaborated with Cuban superstars Orishas on a single that promises to be a global hit. The show will also include exciting new performances of Latin classics, reimagined with Arthur’s authentic sound and mix of blues, pop, and jazz, as well as new hits like “Si tu te vas”.
“Gringo en La Habana” the show is a celebration of Cuban and Latin American music through the experiences, hands, heart and soul of a piano virtuoso who is Irish American but has made his career traveling and recording throughout the Americas. The piano, bass, drums and percussion format will be complemented by a great video component and stories of literally being “a gringo in Havana”. Special guests in each city will take the audience on a great trip through Cuba and Latin America.
Arthur Hanlon – piano virtuoso / composer / arranger and Emmy Award nominee – is the most recognized name in Latin instrumental music. Born in Detroit to Irish parents, Arthur found his place in Latin music, achieving what no other artist in the Latin instrumental field has done, becoming the only pianist to reach number one on the Billboard radio charts in the last 10 years.
With a master’s degree in concert pianist from New York’s prestigious Manhattan School of Music, Arthur masterfully combines his virtuosity in a distinctive blend of classical sensitivity and technique, blues, Latin fusion and the streets of Detroit. Arthur has recorded hits with Ozuna, Luis Fonsi, Laura Pausini, Marc Anthony, Fonseca, Juanes, Myriam Hernandez, Sergio Vallín, Ricardo Montaner and ChocQuibTown.
