OnePlus has released its seventh edition of OnePlus mobiles i.e. OnePlus 7 Pro and remained in the shade after OnePlus 7 Pro due to laking in mid-range mobiles. That is why with the OnePlus 7T, OnePlus sought OnePlus 7T to overcome in mid-range, and OnePlus 7T has everything you can ask for at a high range, but at the price of a mid-range.
When we are looking for a new smartphone, we are clear about what we want, and the failures that we do not want to repeat again. A better camera, better battery performance, and better performance, with the OnePlus 7T, you have these three things, adding a good screen and a successful design and all for a reasonable price.
- 6.55 inch Fluid AMOLED display with a resolution of 2,304 x 1,080 pixels, HDR10, and 90 Hz.
- Snapdragon 855 Plus SoC with eight-core CPU and Adreno 640 GPU.
- 8 GB of RAM.
- 128GB-256GB of non-expandable storage capacity.
- Triple rear camera: main 48 MP (f / 1.7, angular, 1/2 ″, 0.8µm, PDAF, OIS), secondary 16 MP (wide angle) and tertiary 12 MP (telephoto).
- 16 MP front camera (f / 2.0, 25mm, angular, 1 / 3.1 ″, 1.0µm).
- 3,800 mAh battery
- Fingerprint reader integrated into the screen.
- Wi-Fi 6 (AC).
- Android 10 with the OxygenOS 10.
OnePlus has given up black color in its new mobiles, and now all OnePlus mobile models come down to ice blue and Frosted Silver in 7T.
The cameras at the back are in a large black circle similar to the Huawei Mate 30 Pro.
OnePlus has located its front camera on the front screen in a small notch. OnePlus 7T has a screen size of 6.55 inches, which gives OnePlus 7T total measurements of 160.94 x 74.44 x 8.13 millimeters with a weight of 190 grams.
OnePlus 7T is a large but most comfortable and lightweight mobile without giving up other aspects such as the screen and battery.
Oneplus added the fingerprint reader into the screen; still, we can also unlock the mobile with facial recognition since having the camera on the front, we will not have to wait for the camera to popup.
OnePlus 7T has a glass body that gives flashes when the light strick on-screen. OnePlus 7T comes with USB Type-C port at the bottom for charging and other device connections. On the sides, we find the unlock and volume buttons in addition to the mode selector, to change the mobile mode without having to unlock it.
Speakers are located in the lower part and in the upper front part fully integrated into the screen frame.
The display has not been neglected from other aspects of the mobile but the innovation in the screen of the OnePlus 7T has not been exaggerated. That is why we are left with a 6.55-inch AMOLED screen, with a natural frequency of 90 Hz and HDR10 + support.
In addition, OnePlus 7T screen has the customization options so that we can adapt it to our needs, even lower the frequency if we are not going to be using the mobile much, and we need more performance on the part of the battery.
OnePlus 7T has 1000 nits brightness, so the content in the OnePlus 7T will look much clearer and more intense, even in direct sunlight. Besides, the TÜV Rheinland certified that the screen of OnePlus 7T is more Eye Comfortable and achieves a more comfortable display when night comes.
The triple camera of the OnePlus 7T is an improvement over the most basic of the OnePlus 7. It is practically matched with the OnePlus 7Pro model, although with some small nuances.
The OnePlus 7T features a 48-megapixel Sony IMX586 , an image sensor with a ½ inch size with a 7-element lens and a large aperture of f / 1.6 and OIS.
The OnePlus 7T camera has a 2x zoom lens that offers users a variety of focal ranges to discover new and exciting photographic compositions. The camera also integrates with a 16-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens with a 117-degree expansive field of view for wider viewing angles.
At the software level, the OnePlus 7T camera set is optimized with UltraShot Engine, a proprietary technology developed by OnePlus. The software also allows us to change the proportion of the images being able to choose between 4: 3 and 1: 1.
OnePlus 7T model also includes the new Macro Mode, which allows focusing at a distance of 2.5cm. The OnePlus 7T also integrates improvements in the Night Landscape Mode; it is now possible to capture night scenes with a wider vision change thanks to the wide-angle lens. As for Portrait Mode, OnePlus includes new settings and now also the option to select 2 focal lengths so that users can choose between general or foreground portraits.
Battery and performance
OnePlus 7T has justified every penny spent on it in these 2 sections. Because it has 3,800 mAh battery and Qualcomm Snapdragon 855+ super processor. They assure us a full day of total performance, with the screen at 90Hz, and we still have 40% leftover battery at the end of the day.
It also has a renewed fast charging technology, the Warp Charge 30T, which allows you to charge the phone in an hour while maintaining the phone without overheating and with a constant charging speed, even while running a video game with demanding graphics.
The latest Qualcomm processor is well accompanied by 8 GB of RAM. It is the only option available for this model, which also provides us with a very interesting 128 GB of internal memory. OnePlus 7T does not have andy option to expand the memory externally.
OnePlus has provided the same software in the OnePlus 7T Pro and 7T software. OnePlus gives it all with Oxygen OS 10 , which is mounted on Android 10. Remember that Bloatware is minimal, it has the mode Zen mode that allows us to disconnect from the mobile for as long as we want.
It also allows a certain level of customization, allowing you to change the typeface and the way of presenting the icons. Android 10 brings, the dark mode and the greater control over privacy deserve special mention (or unless the user knows what it shares more clearly), including parental control with the Google Family Link application.
Few Mobiles can offer both performance and value for money for less than $649. The specifications of the mobiles are no longer alone; it is the reliability that a brand like OnePlus provides, of which we know that it gives everything in each mobile taking care of every detail, and that is noticeable when you use one of them.
I liked the OnePlus 7T much more than the Pro edition. I understand that it may be because I am not a target audience of the Pro, since I only play with the mobile phone in the subway and not very demanding games, nor do I usually watch multimedia content, but if I see it, it is in the subway on the way or back from work, so I need the mobile to hold long enough after leaving it.
It is true that once I arrive at my destination, I can connect the phone to charge it, but I will use it, but for my liking, this makes no sense in 2019, almost 2020 and makes me go back to the first smartphone that had to be charging every 2 for three.
